Health Records
In accordance with the state licensing regulations, we required: - Current health records and immunizations. - Dental form for children 3 years plus. - Current emergency information. - Instructions for special needs. - Sunscreen Permission Form. Illness Policy Healthy guidelines are followed to ensure a healthy environment. Doctor's recommendation to keep children home when necessary to limit exposure of viruses. Children who present signs or symptoms of illness are required to be picked up within an hour of notification or remain home until they are symptom free for twenty-four hours unless a licensed physician has cleared your child of being contagious: |
- Diarrhea and/or vomiting more than 2 times in the same day
- Temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher
- Skin rash other than a localized diaper rash
MESAC requires a doctor's written note releasing the child and verifying that the child is no longer contagious if the child continues to present signs or symptoms. For non-contagious infections such as ear infections, teething etc., the child may return to care without the 24 hour waiting period only if the child is fever free and has been diagnosed by a doctor.
Handwashing
Proper hand washing practices by all children and staff at all times, including but not limited to before and after meal times, and after diapering or toileting.
Diapering Procedures
Teachers check for and change wet or soiled diapers or training
pants when needed, immediately regardless of the last time the child was changed.
Diapering and changing procedures are posted in designated areas.
Medication - MESAC will only administer medication that is properly dated and labeled and prescribed for your child. Please keep medication is in the original container. A medication authorization form is required.
Cleaning Policy
MESAC uses fragrance-free and non-toxic cleaning products to sanitize the School. Soap and water spray bottles and hand sanitizer are available in each classroom. We follow procedures to assure that the cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of the areas are carried out correctly.
Snacks and Meals
Good nutrition is vital to children's physical and mental development. We encourage the development of good eating habits that will last a lifetime. Our meals menu meets both the state department of education and FDA nutritional requirements.
CPR & First Aid and Health and Safety Trainings
All staff members are certificated with First Aid and CPR training. All staff participate in 21 hours of health and safety trainings including SIDS.
